Let June Make A Difference exists to enhance the lives of children and young people who live or study in North Kirklees and are aged up to 17 at the start of the academic year. We will also consider applications from certain specialist schools that serve the whole of Kirklees.

Our aim is to help children who are referred to us as a result of financial difficulties, illness or other challenging circumstances. We will provide one-off grants in whole or in part towards the purchase of a specific item.

Examples of our grants include school or college supplies, medical equipment or life-enhancing adventures. Sometimes we will make a contribution to a major item of expenditure in conjunction with other like-minded organisations.

The starting point in our process is the completion by a third party professional of our Application Form. We will not accept applications directly from the family of the child or young person. The Form can be sent to us as an attachment to an e-mail or by post to our PO Box. It contains details of the required expenditure, background information on the family's circumstances (including their financial position unless the child attracts the Pupil Premium) and an explanation of the difference our award will make to the young person. This is a key part of our approval process.

We cannot provide assistance towards existing debt repayments, recurring expenses such as rent and utility bills, white goods or fixtures and fittings. We will consider grants of all sizes although it is unlikely that an individual award will be greater than £500.

The Trustees meet formally on a bi-monthly basis. The meeting dates for 2019 are as follows:

17 February 2019

14 April 2019

16 June 2019

18 August 2019

13 October 2019

15 December 2019

Additional meetings are held to discuss individual applications where a speedy response is important.

To apply, please download a copy of the application form

and email it back to as an attachment.

If an application is successful, we will retain the information it has received for as long as it deems appropriate but for no longer than 7 years. All information associated with unsuccessful applications will be destroyed within six months from the date they were considered by the Trustees at their board meeting.

We will comply with the requirements of the Charity Commission to supply high level information about our applications and activity.
