Let June Make A Difference was established in 2015 to offer a helping hand to children and young people living or studying in North Kirklees.
June Dewhirst (1951 – 2014) was a very special lady with a lifelong interest in the well-being of children. Following her death in April 2014, her family decided to create a charity in her honour with its core purpose being to improve the circumstances of children where June lived in West Yorkshire.
We have been created to assist children and young people between the ages of 7 and 17 through the provision of grants to improve their quality of life. We act purely on the basis of referrals from local professionals such as teachers, faith leaders and social workers.
THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Let June Make A Difference consists of a board of seven Trustees who meet formally six times a year to discuss general charity matters and grant applications. In addition to the formal meetings, the Trustees meet to discuss specific applications and work towards a two week turnaround time from receipt to a formal decision.
